Kind words from our guests
From a perfect pint to an award from the judges, here is what people are saying about Friel's of Swatragh.
Upon arrival the outside of the pub was very tidy and well kept. The inside was the same. A very traditional style pub. It had a lot of old memorabilia, pictures, and paintings displayed throughout the bar.
We ordered a couple of pints of Guinness. They were poured perfectly and tasted just as good as they looked. Music was playing softly in the background, and there was a lovely feel to the bar with customers interacting and enjoying the craic.
Friels of Swatragh is an authentic 1800s bar with a cosy turf fire, but it offers much more than just a great pint. Visitors can explore the impressive on-site museum that tells the local story of the Great Famine, making a visit feel like a real cultural experience. The pub serves fantastic food made with local ingredients and is a great example of a traditional country pub that welcomes the world without losing its local charm.
